A monarch identified as chief Micheal Onwe, has been laid to rest after he died following the arrest of his daughter, a hardcore member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The traditional ruler’s only child and daughter named Mrs. Florence Ifeanyi was arrested in Owerri, Imo state on 17th August, 2018, alongside other IPOB women who were protesting against the ‘injustice and illegal detention’ of their members by the federal government.
Chief Micheal Onwe, the Eze Udo 1 of Ndiakpaji at Umuoru Amechi in Ohaukwu LGA, Ebonyi state, died after suffering a heart attack as a result of the arrest his daughter.
He was buried according to the tradition rites on 30th November, 2018 at his home town.
Members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB in Ebonyi state, Abakaliki province including the state coordinator, Mazi Igwe Ogbonna, his state executives, the state women leader Evangelist Mrs Chioma Iwuala, Bishop Nwachinere Stanley, chief Rabbi of House of Israel Assembly Synagogue at Izhia – were among the dignitaries that attended the burial to cheer Mrs Florence and her family over the death..
